Conservation Easements

As a 501(c)(3), tax exempt organization, the Wildlife Foundation is permitted to be the holder of conservation easements in numerous states. Finding the right easement holder is vital to ensure proper compliance with the terms of a conservation easement.

For example, when a conservation easement is put into place, there are terms within the recorded instrument which prohibits development, requires best agricultural practices, and ensures the property will be properly maintained. Without a strong easement holder, these terms could simply be words on paper. The Wildlife Foundation ensures easement terms are adhered to strictly, ensuring that wildlife will continue to thrive throughout the duration of the Conservation Easement.
